I’ve published eighteen novels to date, but I’ll tell you now that I’ve actually been consumed by the story behind The Secret World since I was a child. The characters and plot have been rattling around in my head almost every day for about forty-five years. Yes, you read that right. I’m fifty-one, so we’re talking about a huge portion of my life that’s been devoted to the evolution of this particular tale.
I’ve attempted to complete a draft of The Secret World multiple times over the course of the past year and a half without success. A few months ago, I realized that I was too close to the story to get it out exactly as I’d intended. Therefore, I decided to simply write organically as I typically do and see what facets of the plot came into play. This week, I finally finished! The draft can now percolate for a while before I perform an edit and then send it to my editor for review.
The completion of this first draft has both positive and negative elements to it. On the one hand, I have a solid, lengthy first draft; on the other, the work that’s consumed me for so long is now finished. Well, it’s finished for the time being.
What’s next? That question is easy to answer. I’ll release Brain Storm: The Limitless Series, Book 5 early in 2019. However, I’m facing a dilemma regarding what happens after that. Perhaps you can help me to solve this problem.
I find myself at a professional crossroads. I have two new series and a trilogy waiting for release. In our ever-changing, competitive literary world, I need to try some new marketing and promo approaches with the releases of these new works. But which one should I focus on first? Here are the contenders:
#1. The Essential Elements Series, five paranormal romance novels highlighting the stories of five extraordinary brothers and their fight to save the world from evil while uncovering their own mysterious origins.
#2. The ROYAL Series, romantic suspense novels spotlighting those working in a secret organization with an unknown agenda.
#3. The Secret World Trilogy, paranormal romantic suspense novellas and a novel that follow the two main characters as they descend from innocence into an anguish that leads them to vengeance and a desire for redemption.
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to let me know which of the three new series you’d like to read first. My newsletter subscribers will also be emailing me their thoughts, and one of those fans will win an exclusive New Year’s giveaway, which includes a paperback edition of each of my eighteen current releases. The books will be personalized and signed. If you haven’t yet subscribed, you can do so by going to the home page of my website at www.onmywayuponline.com!
I can’t wait to find out which new series readers would like made available first! As always, thank you for being so awesome!
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday season and am looking forward to the new opportunities that will emerge with the dawning of 2019.
